Credit Sharks in Suits
Dave Ramsey wasn't kidding when he said credit card companies are like sharks! They are relentless. But I did not give in and after 20 minutes of battling with them over the phone today my credit card is canceled once and for all! Sure, there were tons of other things I really wanted to buy with that money but I know using it towards debt was the smart thing to do. There are far more important things in life than the "stuff" we collect. The borrower is always the slave to the lender and that is no lie. It is such a freeing feeling to have one less debt to worry about. That feeling far outweighs the temporary pleasure of anything I could have bought with that money. I am so proud of how hard Kyle and I have worked to reduce our debt by SO much this year. We are now one step closer to being totally debt free!!

Green Room
We have sort of been in a rut with the house for the last few months. Not exactly sure why, we've just been busy and working crazy hours so we just haven't really done much. But Kyle finally got motivated one day and went and got some paint!!! We are turning one of the upstairs bedrooms into an office/guest room. I let Kyle pick out the paint color *gasp*! I know! He did a great job though, it's an olive green color... Slate Green to be exact. It looks soooo nice!! No more yucky blue and gray! I seriously need some accent color suggestions.... I'm kind of stuck. Is white or cream too plain and safe? Would red/burgundy be to Christmasy? Is black or brown too dark? (I'm kind of staying away from brown anyway since our entire living room is green and brown already) Suggestions please!!

Home of the Braves!!
We just got home from spending a wonderful 4th of July weekend in Atlanta! I hadn't seen my cousins and their babies since Christmas! There was about to be trouble if I didn't see them really soon.
Friday night I got to experience my first Braves baseball game!! It was wonderful. Wonderful! We had good seats on the right field line. Too bad their star rookie, right fielder was on the injured list. But Chipper Jones was back!! I was so excited to see him play in real life, I've had a crush on him since middle school. He may be 39 years old be he can seriously still hang with those younger guys. He's the third baseman so I didn't see him that well but I could still cheer very loudly for him! ;) Actually, he's a real crowd favorite. The whole place erupted EVERY time he got up to bat. They went into 11 innings and finally scored the winning run!! And of course we stayed for the fireworks! I loved my first MLB game, I really wish we lived closer and we would go to so many more games!
Saturday we had a nice relaxing day with salon time and shopping. My cousin Holly is a cosmetologist and since she had to work that day she wanted us to come for a visit. Fine by me! She always wants to do my hair every time we are together! So my sissy and I got a haircut! And of course some shopping time afterwards. The men stayed home and played with the new grill and got in a few tournaments of red-neck golf (ladder ball!) We also squeezed in a little pool time. That night we had a fun cookout and the best part was.... homemade Reese cup ice cream!!!!!!! It was amazing.
Sunday we loaded up everyone and headed to the lake for the day. The weather was perfect the whole weekend. It was hot, but not miserable like it has been for the last month. Kyle and I stayed on the boat most of the day and did some tubing and a lot of laughing. My Mom and aunt tried the tube too, that was pretty funny! After about 5 hours or so the babies were exhausted and we were all hot, sandy and tired too. I was in a car with the one baby who doesn't sleep on car rides. The poor dear cried, no actually she screamed the whole hour drive home. She didn't want anything but her Momma, who was driving. It was pitiful. I know she slept great that night though, haha. We got home and had pizza and did some small fireworks out in the yard. It was such a fun day and a great way to celebrate our nation's Independence Day!
Monday morning we were up way too early to head back home! Fun times and great memories!

twitter, health foods and vacation
It's been a good week. Lots of randomness but it's been fun.
First of all, as if I'm not already addicted to the internet enough, I'm now on Twitter (@LindseyFescoe). So is Kyle. (@kylefescoe) I was really really really trying not to do it. I lasted so long without it and I still don't need it. But Facebook is kind of getting annoying and it's so much cooler to follow celebs than my friends, haha. Plus, I figured if Beth Moore did it, it can't be that bad. ;) Anyway, find us on Twitter if you're on there too.
As some of you know, I've been feeling pretty convicted lately about changing over to a healthier diet. This is something that is super hard for me. I LOVE fast food, sweets and soda. All of which are terribly bad for you. Change is also hard. I have already been eating less meat for a few months now but I know that's not enough. I went to a healthy eating/cooking class on Tuesday night and learned a lot. But it pretty much just reinforced for me that I seriously need to change my diet. It's not that I don't realize my eating style is bad for me, it's just that I love food and I have trouble finding the will power and motivation to change. Not only is heart disease the #1 killer of Americans, it is also very prominent in my family. Kinda scary. So I am slowly going to change things in our diet. Not all at once or it would seriously stress me out. So I started with drinks. I am only buying organic milk now (look outside your window, a pig is probably flying by right now) and I am no longer buying sodas at the store. I'm not giving up my Dr. Pepper completely, but I'm at least giving it up at home. (And no, I'm not switching over to diet sodas, they are even worse. I'm not as concerned about calories, the whole point for me is to eliminate carbonated water which is ultra bad for your bones. The weight loss is a nice bonus.) I think that's enough change for one week.
One week and counting until our vacation to Atlanta. My parents and Leah and coming with us and we are staying with my Aunt Beth and her family!!! I can not wait to see my cousins and their babies, it's been way too long!! We are also going to our first Braves game, woot!!!!! Can NOT wait!!!!!

Happy Father's Day
Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there!!
Kyle and I are both so thankful for our Dads! They have been such a positive influence on our lives and we know that are a large part of who we are today is because of them. We are also so thankful to the Lord that they are still here with us... either a short drive or phone call away. We have some sweet friends who just lost their Dad way too soon. They are having to experience their first Father's Day without their Dad less than a week after his passing. If your father is still with you today give him a call and a BIG hug next time you see him!!

Weekend Fun
We had a really fun weekend but it seriously flew by!
I had to work until midnight Friday night so we didn't get on the road to Jacksonville until Saturday morning. We were so excited about Courtney's graduation party and seeing family and friends we hadn't seen in a while! Ava and Lincoln are literally the cutest kids ever, smart too and super sweet. Really wish we got to see them more often... and Chris and Michelle too ;) It's always great to see the Florida crowd and Aunt Diane made pudding filled cupcakes. They were amazing! Andy and Joan made it down from NJ, always love seeing them! Lots of friends came that we hadn't seen since our wedding I think so that was cool. We had a really fun time but the visits are always too short.
Sunday morning we headed back early so we could make it in time for my Mom's birthday lunch celebration! Yes she turned the BIG 5-0 today!! We surprised her with an Olive Garden lunch, cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory and lots of presents and then flowers at her work today! Happy Birthday Mom, I love you!
Last night started Vacation Bible School at our church. We don't always get to participate in this big event but this year we are! Our theme is SonQuest Rainforest, how fun! Kyle is actually in the skit crew, hehe. I think it's kind of funny since he has NEVER done anything like that before but he got recruited and is doing a marvelous job. He gets to play the smart and responsible one out of the group which fits him perfectly. I'm a tour guide for one of the out-of-kindergarten classes so my job is super easy. Just show up and escort kids around to the different stations all night! So we will have a busy week with VBS every night, maybe we will get some rest this weekend. Maybe.

Last High School Grad
My littlest sister Leah graduated from Middle Creek High School last Thursday!! The last kid to graduate and I feel old! Wake County seriously pulls off some great graduations. Every school in the county graduates at the same place... this year it was Memorial Auditorium in Raleigh. That means that each school has a time limit and they get people in and out. Much better than graduating on a football field in my opinion first because it's too HOT, second of all the ones on the football field drag on foreverrrrr!!!
Anyway, we are so proud of Leah! Can't wait to see all the places life will take her! The highlight of the day though was when my Dad pulled out the keys to her new car!!! She couldn't stop smiling! And of course it was a Honda! All three sisters are proud drivers of a Honda now! YAY!
