Financial Peace

Last night was our last night of Dave Ramsey's class, Financial Peace University. To say I got something out of this class is an understatement. I have a completely different view of money and finances, savings and the future. Let me just say that just because you are able to pay all of your bills every month does NOT mean that you are doing well financially. If you have any debt at all, you need to restructure your finances and work even harder towards a debt free life. We are already saving a lot more money after this 13 week class and are on a much faster path to being debt free. I am really starting to see debt as a negative thing instead of the normal thing. Being in debt is normal, we want to be weird like Dave. ;) I can't wait until we are out of debt and can give like we want to. I am naturally a giver and it is so hard for me to not be able to give like I want to because of our debt. We must stay focused and have patience but I am so thankful we had the opportunity to take this class while we are young and before we have kids. We have time to fix any mistakes that we have made and we have time to get out of debt! It has been such a blessing!

Simulcast

Saturday we got to participate in our first simulcast. Well it was really just for women but some of our wonderful husbands got recruited to help with serving lunch and selling books and cleaning up and all that fun stuff. Kyle, being a natural server did a great job and I know he had fun too.

Anyway, the simulcast was based off Beth Moore's new book, So Long, Insecurity... you've been a bad friend to us. In case I don't talk enough about Beth Moore, she is my all time favorite teacher! I love her. She's super cute, she's hilarious and she's hard core. I did read the book before the simulcast and I highly recommend it to any woman. If you say that you aren't insecure about ANYthing then that's just being insecure about admitting your insecurities. haha. Seriously, any woman can get something out of this book.

The live event was in Woodstock, Georgia and there were 300,000 ladies gathered at churches and schools throughout the country listening to her on Saturday. We had over 200 ladies just at our church. I wasn't sure how weird it would be to be watching someone teach off a video screen in a different location but it was so cool. And Travis Cottrell led the praise and worship time, LOVE him too! It was a new experience but very unique and super fun. I can't wait until we do another one!!

One of my favorite new verses we learned is: "She is clothed in strength and dignity, she can laugh at the days to come." - Proverbs 31:25

I didn't have any time to take pictures since I was one of the greeters but I'm good at stealing other people's pictures :)

Spring is here!

I'm too busy to even write this post but I thought I should at least do some sort of update.

Softball season has officially started. We have two games a week for the next 6 weeks. Kyle has somehow miraculously gotten super good in the off season. I'm very impressed at his batting skills and his defense. I did give him a few pointers on his swing (at his request), maybe that's what it was ;)

My last day at the old job was last Friday!! Yeah! Change is hard but good sometimes, and this time it was awesome!

And I've been promising someone that I would post pics of my new haircut. Here ya go Michelle! I still want it shorter, we'll see.

PS- I HATE pollen, I can't breathe!!! Please let it rain soon!
