I PASSED!!

I found out today I passed my CT boards!!!! I'm so thankful because it was quite hard! Now I'm officially an "RT (R) (CT)" I'm pretty sure that's more letters than MD, too bad my paycheck doesn't have more numbers in it. hehe.

47 days!!!

I am so excited I can't hardly stand it!!!! There are only 47 days left until I get married people!! Are you guys jumping up and down clapping your hands like a 3-year old?? I sure am! We are almost done... just have to finalize the menu and print the programs and I'll be ready to walk down the aisle. We had a minor delay in getting the favors made but hopefully we have found a way to fix all that and those should be finished by the weekend!! Thanks to Court we now have a hairstyle picked out for the bridesmaids and my lovely cousin is coming from Atlanta to do all the girls' hair. The tanning starts this week and hopefully I will get to pick up my bridal portraits Wednesday night! I can't wait!!!!!!!!!! Have a great week everyone!

SNOW!!!

It has not snowed in Raleigh in the last four years, but we finally got to see some yesterday! It wasn't much, not enough to cancel anything but it was about an inch and it was so beautiful. I know all the Yankees reading this think us Southerners are a little "off" already and you see snow all the time. But when you don't see it that much, it's so pretty!!!!! We took our crazy lab dog for a walk in it and she thought it was the greatest thing ever. We threw some snow balls at her and she freaked out. It was relaxing just sitting around the house all day watching UNC LOSE and NC State finally get a WIN and watching it SNOW! Three rarities in one day, not bad. Alrighty, back to reality.

My Mom and I had very productive meetings this weekend with the Music group and the Decorators. My wedding is going to be beautiful!! I hope everyone is able to come!!!

Update

Today was finally the day, I took my CT registry and I can only hope I passed. It was hard but I felt ok about it. I will find out in a couple of weeks if I passed or not. But MRI is going great! I am really enjoying every aspect about it compared to CT. The classroom part is proving to be quite a challenge but in clinicals, I'm having a great time.

We finally got the wedding invitations mailed out, yay!! What a relief!!!! And we are meeting with the music director on Friday night and with the decorating team for the reception on Saturday. Plans are coming together nicely. I'm excited about all the events coming up too... Bridal Tea, Bridal Shower, Bachlorette Party, it's going to be so much FUN! Even Kyle is getting a Tool Party so he has made a registry at Lowe's, how cool is that?!

ONLY 58 DAYS TIL THE WEDDING!!!!!!!!

High Cotton

Happy New Year Everyone! 2007 was quite a year! I was trying to remember the other day if anything interesting happened this year and wow! how could I forget!
... I got my wedding dress and started planning my dream wedding
... I graduated from Radiography and passed my national registry!
... My Mom spent five days in the hospital and survived an illness that could have killed her
... My Uncle survived a motorcycle crash and came out with only a few scrapes and a broken thumb
... Kyle got a promotion at work
... I made it through CT school!
... Kyle and I ran in our first 5K together
... We welcomed lots of new people to our family
... We made lots of new friends
... we went to plenty of parties, weddings, concerts and other fun stuff!

Sometimes we forget to stop and look around and see how blessed we really are! I'm not naive enough to think that every year will be all warm and giggly, hard times come and go, I've been there and done that too. But we are still so blessed. I heard this song the other day and thought that it was very fitting for me this year.

High Cotton - Alabama

We didn't know that times were lean
Around our home the grass was green
It didn't seem like things were all that bad
I bet we walked a thousand miles
Choppin' cotton and pushin' plows
And learnin' how to give it all we had

As life went on and years went by
I saw the light in daddy's eyes
And felt the love in mama's hands
They kept us warm and kept us fed
Taught us how to look ahead
Now lookin' back, I understand

We were walkin' in high cotton
Old times there are not forgotten
Those fertile fields are never far away
We were walkin' in high cotton
Old times there are not forgotten
Leavin' home was the hardest thing we ever faced

When Sunday mornings rolled around
We dressed up in hand-me-downs
Just in time, together with the church
Sometimes I think how long it's been
And how it impressed me then
It was the only day my daddy wouldn't work

We were walkin' in high cotton
Old times that are not forgotten
Those fertile fields are never far away
We were walkin' in high cotton
Old times there are not forgotten
Leavin' home was the hardest thing we ever faced

I'm looking forward to what 2008 will bring! I hope God blesses you all this year as much as he has Kyle and I. Happy New Year!
