Same Place, New Job

This is Kyle posting to the blog, I figured I'd give a little heads to what has been going on with me with work. I got the official word today that I will be an IT Technician. My hours change from 1130 to 8, to 9 to 6 on May 7. These will eventually move to 8 to 5 once they find a replacement for my position. This new opportunity comes at a great time when we're needing a little money for the wedding. With the new title I will get a significant raise compared to what I was making. I just feel like everything is starting to fall into place and I will be able to get out from behind the desk and work on computers, not sit behind one. I'll probably start posting to the blog a little more now to let everyone know what is going on.

Busy times...

The last two weeks have been very busy! I've been working and studying like crazy! We had our Radiography Pinning Ceremony last Thursday night. It was soooo exciting!! I only have two more weeks of school and then I get a couple months off for summer break then I start CT/MRI July 23. Here are a few pics from the pinning ceremony!

Happy Easter!

Praise the LORD today for HE LIVES!! We don't worship a dead prophet, we worship a risen Savior! Hallelujah! I hope everyone has a great Easter and enjoys being with family and eating lots of good food :)

But I did get in touch with a VERY nice wedding photographer. He is so cooperative and friendly so I hope everything works out with him. My Mom and I go this Thursday to meet with him and try to find a package that we like. For the most part, he offers a whole lot more than most photographers around here for what you have to pay and it's good quality work. My wedding planner recommended him to me and he seems like a great pick so we're hoping for the best!

Life...

Life is good right now. I took a mock x-ray Registry yesterday and made an 87 on it (75 is passing) so that was wonderful news! Plus they said the one I took was much harder than the real one is going to be, they said I could expect to add anywhere from 5-10 points to my grade on the real one. So I'm pretty excited about that! :) That definitely takes a ton of pressure off of me.

Work is going well so far. I already know everything about the x-ray part of the job and I am loving that very much!! They are now cross-training me to do the lab work since I have very little experience with that. So far I have practiced drawing blood on an x-ray tech, a nurse and a very kind PA. I missed on the x-ray tech and had to dig around a little before I found the vein, I got it first try on the nurse, and I bruised the PA's hand pretty bad but he was nice about it. But I'm learning... starting an IV (which I have done many times) is much easier for me than drawing blood. Oh well. It's a lot to learn but I'm liking it pretty good. It's definitely good experience and will help me find a better job in the future. Being cross-trained in several different things always helps finding a job anywhere, in the medical field especially. I like everybody so far, especially the ones I will be working with at night and on the weekends. I've only made a few mistakes so far and only one was not able to be fixed. I think I'm doing ok, haha!

I hope everybody else is having a great week!
