Savannah, GA

Kyle and I went on a much needed getaway this weekend to Savannah, GA. I have been wanting to go there for a very long time so we finally did!

We fell in love with this city. It is full of rich history and lives under the canopy of beautiful oak trees covered in Spanish moss. We took a trolley ride around the city so we could get a better overview and more history. Our tour guide was awesome, he had lived in Savannah for over 40 years and he knew everything about everything. He told us all kinds of stuff and he had a story for every house it seemed like. I'm not huge into history but it was so fascinating to hear about so much of our own American history that took place in that area. Kyle really enjoyed the history part, yeah, he's the guy that stops and reads all the information signs. ;)

After the trolley tour we walked around the city for hours to get a better look at things. We also went down to the water front, which to my delight, had TWO candy stores. We spent a lot of time down there. We also found the house that Kyle's Grammie lived in and the huge Catholic church where she attended. That was very cool. :)

And of COURSE we ate at Paula Deen's, Lady and Sons restaurant. We were in line by 8:15am to get our name on the list for lunch! It was SO good. LOVED LOVED LOVED it!!! We got the buffet and had fried chicken, mashed potatoes, collard greens, black eyed peas, green beans, butter beans, mac and cheese (my fav), salad, cheese biscuits and corn bread. I wanted to go back for seconds but I really thought I might be sick if I did. For dessert, banana pudding and chocolate cake. YUM! We might need to go back really soon.

We had such a fun and relaxing time! It was wonderful!
